Whole House

Whether its a whole house renovation, a main level remodel, or a multi-room update, there are many aspects to consider before you begin.

Factors to consider in a whole house design & remodel

There has been a trend in the past several years of maximizing homeowner investments in remodeling several rooms at once, or, even an entire floor.  Short of a complete teardown, this "whole house" approach really can leverage labor and materials through economy of scale metrics in every aspect of the remodeling process.

Think of a home as a human body. It has a skeletal structure.  We might say it has "good bones."  It breathes, and exchanges heat and air. And it has flesh so to speak, cosmetic surfaces such as countertops, flooring, walls, and ceilings. These things are all connected with one another and so when we change one of them, we often have to consider changing others.  Changing the floor in the kitchen often leads to changing the flooring in all the connecting rooms. After all, nothing looks worse than the outdated old next to the updated new.  Try putting new Cambria countertops on top of old honey oak cabinets.  Yikes!

  • Increased living space: By remodeling your entire house, you have the opportunity to expand your living space, whether it's adding an extra room, creating a home office, or building a larger kitchen and dining area.
  • Improved energy efficiency: Remodeling your home provides an opportunity to upgrade the insulation, windows, doors, and appliances, leading to improved energy efficiency. This can result in lower utility bills and a reduced environmental footprint.
  • Enhanced comfort: Upgrading heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems during a whole house remodel can improve temperature control and indoor air quality, making your home more comfortable year-round.
  • Increased property value: A well-executed whole house remodel has the potential to significantly increase the value of your property. Renovations that improve functionality, aesthetics, and energy efficiency can make your home more appealing to potential buyers in the future.
  • Personalization and customization: Remodeling your entire house allows you to put your personal touch on every aspect of your home. You can choose materials, colors, finishes, and fixtures that reflect your style and preferences, creating a space that truly feels like your own.
  • Modernization and updated technology: A whole house remodel gives you the opportunity to update outdated features and incorporate the latest technologies into your home. This could include smart home automation systems, energy-efficient appliances, or advanced security systems.
  • Enhanced aesthetics: Transforming your entire house through a remodel allows you to achieve a cohesive and visually appealing design. You can create a consistent style and flow throughout the different areas, improving the overall aesthetics and ambiance of your home.
  • Fixing structural issues: Remodeling your entire house presents an opportunity to address any underlying structural issues that may exist. This can help improve the safety and stability of your home, providing peace of mind.
  • Avoiding the hassle of moving: If you love your neighborhood and location but feel your current home is lacking, a whole house remodel allows you to stay in the same area while still getting the upgrades and improvements you desire. It saves you the inconvenience and expense of moving to a new home.
